We are currently looking for Trustees and term time Relief Play Workers.

Trustees

Could you (or someone you know) spare us a few hours a month to help direct the future of MKPA? We are hoping to welcome some new Trustees to our small Board. Could you be what we are looking for? Are we what you have been looking for? Some of the answers are here.

What does the work of an MKPA Trustee involve?

  • Attending monthly Board meetings (held in the evenings) at which finances, staffing and future plans are discussed.
  • Attending the AGM.
  • Representing the Association at external meetings, as necessary, if your time permits.

This voluntary work is all unpaid, of course.

What skills or experience do I need to be an MKPA Trustee?

  • Most important of all to us is that you support the MKPA core values:
    • Being child-centred – Advocating for children’s self-directed play and learning- Being innovative and prepared to embrace new play practice and innovative ideas -Enabling change to other people’s practice through our own.
    • After that, we need people who can contribute to the planning and oversight of the organisation. Relevant previous experience could include: working with children; commercial, managerial or retail work; work in the voluntary sector.

We can provide guidance on the responsibilities of being a Trustee.

How can I find out more about being an MKPA Trustee?

We can put you in touch with a current Trustee for an informal chat, if you would like. Just contact the MKPA office on admin@mkpa.co.uk with your details and we can get someone to give you a call.

How will the new Trustees be selected?

We will invite those who wish to be considered to a future Board meeting and will then have a trial period of attendance at Board meetings before final confirmation.
