DBS Eligibility Guide – Please Read

There is no eligibility requirement for a Basic DBS check.

However, if you are considering asking a person to apply for a Standard or Enhanced DBS check, as an employer, you are legally responsible for making sure the job role is eligible.

Please use the eligibility link below or on the DBS website to ascertain what level you require.

How MKPA can help you…

MKPA carries out Disclosure and Barring Services (DBS) checks for individuals and companies.

Please use the link above to establish which level of check is required.

If only a Basic check is required, please apply online using the following link  https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record

For Standard or Enhanced checks please contact MKPA to make an appointment.

Appointments can by made by calling us on 01908 263033 during office hours.

Prices are:

Standard

Member: £40 including administration fee
Non-Member: £43 including administration fee

This will check for spent and unspent convictions, cautions, reprimands and final warnings etc.

Enhanced

Member: £58 including administration fee
Non-Member: £61 including administration fee

This includes the same as the standard check plus any additional information held by local police that’s reasonably considered relevant to the workforce being applied for (adult, child or ‘other’ workforce).

‘Other’ workforce means those who don’t work with children or adults specifically, but potentially both, e.g. taxi drivers. In this case, the police will only release information that’s relevant to the post being applied for.
